Scriptures on Healing

When you are praying for healing — for yourself or for someone you love — it helps to have God’s own words in front of you. These are passages believers have returned to for centuries in seasons of sickness, exhaustion and grief.

Read them slowly. Pray them aloud if you can. And if you would like someone to pray alongside you, our prayer team is here.

When you need to be reminded who God is

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.” — Psalm 103:2–3

“I am the LORD that healeth thee.” — Exodus 15:26

When the hurt is in your heart rather than your body

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3

“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

When you are worn out

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31

When you want to ask

“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him.” — James 5:14

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” — Philippians 4:6
