The Healing Process

The Healing Process By Pastor Bill McCombes

Recognize what sin does to your soul. Sin originates from the original sin, generational sins, sins perpetrated against us, and sins we do ourselves.

The blood of Jesus, shed on the cross, eradicates, covers, and takes care of our sins. “What can wash away my sin, nothing but the blood of Jesus.” Applying the blood of Jesus to our sins, repenting, and asking forgiveness will set us free from past sins. We must forgive others, ourselves, and, when appropriate, God.

The result of sin is a ‘wound’ to our soul. If these wounds are not ‘healed,’ we operate out of a broken and wounded soul. The wounds are healed by the ‘glory light’ of Jesus. In His light. In His life. By His love. In His presence. Wounds are healed by bringing TRUTH into the lies and deceptions of these wounds.

Wounds in our soul give place for the enemy [the devil] and open the door for demonic influence. Wounds are a curse, and there is a cause for the curses we experience. See Proverbs 26:2.

Once the blood takes care of the sin and the light and truth of Jesus take care of the wounds, we can command the demonic to leave. They have no legal right to remain and will be dealt with quickly and efficiently by a child of God.

When we achieve this for the various wounds in our soul, we can begin to operate out of our new, God-given nature. We then renew our minds and restore our souls to a place of total agreement with what God has for us. This includes breaking negative thoughts, speech, habit patterns, and emotional, mental, and physical habits.

Without taking care of the sins and wounds in our souls, living a godly life without extreme self-discipline is virtually impossible. And usually only works short term.

Once we have worked through the process of repentance, forgiveness of our sins, healing our souls, and removing the demonic out of our lives, we can walk a godly life. The things that were temptations to us before no longer tempt us. Our outward behavior becomes ‘godly.’ We become new creatures in Christ, and old things pass away.

You must focus on the steps and take each step in the process.

It is essential to realize that it is not just the cross. The cross and the shed blood take care of our sins. It is also the resurrection. The resurrection life of Jesus. The light of Jesus. He is the bright morning star. He is the light of the world. His light will come and bring healing to your soul.
